Abstract

This writing aims to find out how the role of literacy culture in community life in the modern era today will continue to erode with the development of tecnology. Literacy culture itself has a relationship in fostering interest in reading and writing for children in elementary schools. In growing interest in reading and writing, literacy culture is the most important key in realizing this interest. In the results to foster interest in reading and writing, it must require several roles such as infrastructure in schools, communities and parents. If the role is not sufficient, it will have a negative impact on the ongoing culture of literacy.
