Analisis Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Pada Model Discovery Learning Berdasarkan Pembelajaran Tematik

The purpose of this study is to be able to know the critical thinking skills of primary school students after getting
treatment with the application of discovery learning model based on the implementation of thematic learning. The type
of research used is descriptive research with quantitative methods. The population in this study is the fourth-grade
students in cluster IV of Nara District registered in the even semester of academic year 2017/2018. The sample in this
research is class IV in SDN 1 Mara which amounted to 21 people. The data collection used is the test in the form of a
description problem with the number of 10 items that all cover five categories of critical thinking skills according to
Nitko and Brookhart namely (1) elementary clarification, (2) basic support of argument, (3) inferences, (4) advanced
clarification, and (5) strategies and tactics. From the analysis result of critical thinking ability test of learners after
getting treatment with discovery learning model of 24% with a very high category, and 62% high category and 14%
with the medium category, with average value 69,40. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the overall
grade 4 students SDN 1 Mara in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018 have the ability to think critically
with a high category.
